DC Fintech Week returns to Washington D.C. October 13-16 bringing together regulators, central bankers, financial institutions, fintech companies, investors and academics for four days focused on financial technology and policy.

Launched in 2017, DC Fintech Week differs from most fintech conferences in one major respect: registration is free. The event was created to make discussions about financial innovation and regulation accessible to the public.

The conference is organized under The Fintech Foundation / DC Fintech Week and is led by founder Chris Brummer.

DC Fintech Week 2026 at a Glance

The organizer reports more than 2,300 in-person attendees, with participants drawn from financial institutions, fintech companies, government agencies, regulatory bodies, technology companies, academia and investment firms.

2026 Schedule

DC Fintech Week uses several venues rather than operating as a traditional conference-center event.

Tuesday, October 13 — World Bank

  • Programming begins at the World Bank, followed by a kickoff networking event at F1 Arcade.

Wednesday, October 14 — Amazon HQ2

  • The primary conference day takes place at Amazon HQ2 in Arlington.

Thursday–Friday, October 15–16 — Washington, D.C.

  • The final two days shift to smaller salon-style programs around Washington, including events at the Milken Institute and FINRA headquarters.

DC Fintech Week has historically attracted an unusual concentration of senior financial regulators and fintech executives.

The complete 2026 speaker lineup has not yet been posted on the main conference agenda page as of September 23. Organizations or executives interested in participating can use the DC Fintech Week speaker application.

Past speakers have included Federal Reserve governors, SEC commissioners, FDIC leadership and executives from Citi, Visa, Ripple, Coinbase, Fireblocks, Robinhood and Chainlink.
