What Is Boston Fintech Week?

Boston Fintech Week is not simply a four-day conference in one convention center. It is structured as a citywide fintech week built around a central paid conference.

The Fintech Sandbox Innovation Forum is the main-stage event on September 22 and 23 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. A ticket provides access to those two days of keynotes, panels, roundtables and networking.

The rest of Boston Fintech Week includes events hosted by sponsors and community organizations at locations throughout Boston. Depending on the organizer, those events can be free, paid or invitation-only, and attendees generally need to register for them separately.

September 24 also features International Acceleration Day, with other community programming continuing through September 25.

Theme: Fintech That Thinks

Artificial intelligence is the dominant theme for 2026. The program will explore the technologies, data, governance requirements and real-world applications defining the next generation of “intelligent finance.”

Questions being addressed include:

  • Where are the largest opportunities for AI-enabled fintech?
  • How will agentic AI change financial services?
  • What happens as financial software moves from providing information to making decisions?
  • How should financial institutions manage the data and governance requirements surrounding increasingly autonomous systems?
  • Where are AI applications moving from experimentation into actual financial products and workflows?

The agenda also covers payments, banking, credit, insurance, wealthtech, data and fintech partnerships.

Speakers

More than 125 speakers are expected including:

  • Jelena McWilliams — President of Corporate and External Affairs, Plaid
  • Peter Hazlehurst — Co-Founder & CEO, Synctera
  • Bob Rivers — Executive Chair, Eastern Bank
  • Mohit Kansal — Chief Payments Officer, Flywire
  • Hans Morris — Managing Partner, Nyca
  • David Jegen — Managing Partner, F-Prime; Co-Founder, Fintech Sandbox
  • Sarah Biller — Co-Founder, Fintech Sandbox

The program also includes executives from firms and organizations such as Fidelity, Eastern Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Flywire, Wells Fargo and other banks, fintech firms, investors and technology companies.
